German carmaker Volkswagen has officially kicked off the teaser campaign for the Volkswagen Tayron in India. The first teaser image shows a Volkswagen SUV covered under a white veil, but the body silhouette, LED lighting signature and overall stance clearly point to the Tayron.
Volkswagen is expected to roll out multiple teasers on its official social media channels in the coming weeks, leading up to the SUV’s India debut.
The teaser image gives a glimpse of the Tayron’s front fascia, with:
At the rear, the Tayron features connected LED tail-lamps, a slim LED strip, and a backlit VW logo, mirroring the front design. While the overall design will remain close to the global-spec Tayron, India-specific cosmetic tweaks are likely.
Globally, the Tayron rides on 17-inch alloy wheels, but the India-spec model is expected to get larger 19-inch alloys, similar to the Tiguan R-Line. Thanks to its larger footprint, the Tayron will appear more imposing than the Tiguan.

Volkswagen Tayron Powertrain Details
Under the hood, the Volkswagen Tayron is expected to use the same 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine seen on the Tiguan R-Line:
This setup should ensure strong on-road performance despite the Tayron’s larger size and three-row layout.
The Tayron is slated to be assembled locally at Volkswagen’s Aurangabad facility after being imported via the CKD route. This should help keep pricing more competitive compared to full imports.
Unlike the Tiguan R-Line, which is a CBU, the Tayron’s CKD approach makes it a more realistic premium family SUV option for India.
